To reserve an athletic field or facility at Colt Park, all applicants must go through the City of Hartford by using their online portal called MyRec.

The Greater Hartford Twilight Baseball League led an effort to name the field after Hartford’s Johnny Taylor.

Members of Hartford’s Los Amigos Softball League volunteered their time and effort to help clean up.

In 1905, Hartford accepted Mrs. Elizabeth Colt’s gift of 106 acres for recreational use.

BASEBALL ORIGINS

America's National Pastime was played on the Colt Park grounds since the 1860's.

MARK TWAIN

Hartford resident and author Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) often visited Colt Park.
